Display day/night mode does not work or does not work properly
NOTE:
Turn the headlight on, and check that the dash brightness setting is not set to high.
Always check for and resolve all CAN DTCs before troubleshooting the navigation system.
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Press the Day/Night (enu_1740914_1.0 ) button to see if the display changes to day and night modes.

Does the display change to day and night modes when pressing the Day/Night button?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 2.
     
NO

Turn the combination light switch to the parking light position.

?2.
Turn the brightness control knob to the mid brightness level (the display does not change if the brightness level is set to max).

Does the display change to day and night modes when turning the headlights on and off?

     
YES
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Explain to the customer that if the display brightness is set to max, the display does not change.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated, go to step 3.

Go to indicated DTC's troubleshooting.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 4.

Determine possible failure area (interior lights circuit, others):

Check if several other buttons that are not related to the navigation system are illuminated.

Are the buttons illuminated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 5.
     
NO
     
     
     
Troubleshoot the interior lights.?

Open wire check (ILLUMI+ line):

Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

Is there battery voltage?

     
YES
     
     
     
The ILLUMI+ wire is OK. Go to step 6.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the No. B25 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation switch panel.?

Open wire check (ILL-(LED) line):

Open wire check (ILL-(LED) line)

Turn the combination light switch off.

?2.
Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?3.
Disconnect the following connectors.

?4.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Navigation switch panel 12P connector: disconnected
 
Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
Test circuit
ILL-(LED)
Test point 1
Navigation switch panel 12P connector No. 9 (TAN)
Test point 2
Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 15 (TAN)


Is there continuity?

NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the navigation switch panel the gauge control module.?
